How Much Exercise Do You Need to Lose Weight and Get the Body of Your Dreams?

How long do you have to spend in the gym or how long do you have to work out to get the body of your dreams…

That is the question!

What is the answer, right?

First off, I just want to say that I haven’t posted in a little while because my wife just gave birth to my beautiful little daughter and she is freaking cute, just a little doll…

She is amazing, she looks just like my son when he was born…

If you look at the old picture of my son with the new picture of my daughter, they look like they were twins, it is insane…

My son is 5 now…

Anyway, I’ve been enjoying that and that’s where I’ve been for a few days, but I am back now and I am here to share with you some great stuff…

So, let’s get started!

Spend Your Time Wisely When Working Out

Back to the question: how long you’ve got to work out to have the body of your dreams…

I got this question just the other day and it is a good question, it really is…

Any time I want to start a workout routine I always want to know how long it is going to take me, because my time is the most valuable resource that I have on this planet, so I have to know how long do I have to devote to this…

I remember a while back when I was in Guam and I was doing Arnold Schwarzenegger’s Blueprint To Mass 8 weeks trainer…

We were thinking that Arnold Schwarzenegger’s the man, he is the most famous bodybuilder ever…

This guy knows what he is doing…

So we followed this routine…

But this routine would take us 2 hours to get through the workout, it was nuts…

On top of that it was 6 days a week, one rest day…

The whole week!

We finished this thing but holy crap…

It took forever to get through it…

If you watch Arnold Schwarzenegger’s old bodybuilding videos, he used to work out 2 or 3 times a day…

Well the dude was on steroids…

That is the only reason he was working out 3 times a day, because his body was recovering so quickly, because he is putting an inhumane amount of testosterone into his body…

Anyway, that’s what I was doing, but problem was that I was exhausted…

I did not enjoy working out two hours in a workout session 6 days a week…

You might be able to handle that for 8 weeks but is that really a long term plan?

You’re not going to build a body of your dreams in 8 weeks…

What are you going to do with rest of your time?

I remember I was willing to go through this because I wanted to have the body of my dreams, I wanted to build up and have big muscles…

I wanted to be like when I walk in the gym, when you’ve got this presence like “Wow, that dude looks good!”…

You know, you just impress people by the way you look, and they just want to know “What is that guy doing? How does he look like that?”…

I wanted that badly and I wanted to look good…

I wanted to walk out with my wife and have people just be like “Damn, she is a lucky woman!” and have her feel good “I am proud of my guy, he looks good”…

Not only that, but I wanted to be healthy, I want to live a long time, I want to enjoy my life while I am alive and get the most out of my life…

I wanted all these things, but I wanted to look really good…

I was tired of spending my time working out and looking like shit…

It is like I am spending all this time working out, but I got shit to show for it…

What am I doing wrong?

It happened like that for a long time…

So, you get to this point like first of all, what am I doing wrong, because I am not getting results even though I am spending 2 hours in the gym 6 days a week…

I am still not getting results, and wouldn’t it be amazing if I didn’t have to spend all that time in the gym and somehow get results…

That was what I really wanted…

I remember years go by, still chucking away at this log, trying to figure it out and I finally get on Kris Gethin’s routine, if you haven’t heard about him before than he is the man…

You need to figure it out who he is!

The guy is amazing…

I am trying to get an interview with him right now and I hope he does, because you would love what this guy has to say…

I was in his routine and that is when I first learned about Dorian Yates, because we were doing Dorian Yates workout…

I think there was an interview with him with Kris Gethin and Dorian Yates that I was watching and Dorian Yates, he was only working out 45 minutes in the gym and he was only there 4 days a week…

Dude had three rest days…

Basically, half the week he was in the gym and he was only there for 45 minutes…

If you’ve seen Dorian Yates, the dude is huge, enormous muscles…

Sure, he is on steroids, but it doesn’t matter…

Even if you’re on steroids, you’ve got to know how to work out to build the muscle up…

The fact that he was able to do that with 45 minutes just blew my mind…

In the interview they asked him “How are you able to do this in 45 minutes?”…

Arnold was there 3 times a day for two hours, how can he be able to do it?

He said “Look man, I don’t waste time. I get in the gym, I do what I got to do and I get out”…

Once you tear the muscle you done…

This was kind of an epiphany for me…

I learned that all you have to do is tear the muscle…

Once the muscles tore, you are done…

You don’t need to be there any more…

It is time to get out and recover…

Recovering is when you actually build the muscle…

When you are tearing the muscle in the gym, you are doing the opposite, you are tearing the muscle…

You are not building muscle when you are in the gym, you are tearing it…

You don’t build muscle until you get out of the gym…

That is when you build muscle…

The Art of Bodybuilding for the Body of Your Dreams

So, I remembered that 45 minutes and the guy looks like that…

That was kind of my ‘Wow-Moment’…

I was happy, I didn’t have to spend two hours in the gym…

This dude doesn’t!

As time progressed, I started decreasing my workouts and right now I am able to do a full workout in 45 minutes…

As a matter of fact, I can do it 3 days a week if I wanted to, but I like it to be 4 days…

Four days a week is just perfect, because I like to do a little extra on some muscle groups…

That is bodybuilding…

Bodybuilding is like art…

It is like an artist that is sculpting clay…

You are like, oh I need a little bit more clay here and I’ll put some down here…

Some body groups I work out twice a week…

That is the only reason I do 4 times a week…

I could do 3 days a week 45-minute sessions…

That is less than half the week in the gym and still have the body of my dreams…

Now, it wasn’t easy to get to that point, it was freaking nuts…

It took me years…

The biggest thing I had to learn was the mind muscle connection and once you figure that out, the game is over…

That is literally the biggest thing that you need to know to do is the mind muscle connection…

It sounds like something weird, but this is real…

Magic Formula to Help You Build Your Dream Body

Here is the magic formula to tearing the muscle…

Isolation + intensity = muscle tear…

That’s it…

Think of it like this…

You’ve got a magnifying glass and you’re trying to burn a piece of paper…

The closer you get to that paper, the smaller that circle the light that is touching the paper gets…

That is when it starts to tear…

If you bring the magnifying glass way up and there is this big yellow circle on the paper, you will never get it on fire…

You want to narrow it down…

Pinpoint that and burn it…

That is what you do in the gym…

That’s it, that is the formula and that is what you got to do in the gym…

You can do it in 45-minute sessions and check this out…

I’m going to blow your mind now…

I don’t even have to go to the gym…

Seriously…

Once you learn it, you can get a tear anywhere…

I could do it in my home in a 6×6 ft space with some TRX bands…

As a matter of fact, if I travel, that is all I bring, my little bag of TRX bands…

I can get a tear anywhere, just like I was in the gym…

What you have to understand is that the gym isn’t going to tear your muscles, the gym is just a variety of things that are available to you…

You have got TRX bands, you’ve got weights, you’ve got machines…

It just keeps it fun plus it’s a public atmosphere so you can be around other people, which as human beings we like that social interaction, and I don’t mind going to the gym and doing it…

Because I know I look good, I know it gives me motivation when I am in there and people are looking at me…

I know I got to perform…

I don’t need it…

I could do it just at home with the TRX bands…

It might take you more motivation because now there is no one around…

Actually, going to the gym helps, but it isn’t necessary…

Eventually you get the body of your dreams and you love the way you look, and it is a lifelong process, you continue to build it over time…

I haven’t stopped trying, I still continue to build over time…

Guess what? You get to tear your muscles in 5 minutes or less…

That is all it takes, any muscle group in 5 minutes or less…

Done!
