Working Out in The Gym but NOT Getting Any Results

Let’s start it off with when I was in Guam…

I was at the gym at my favorite gym in the world…

I love this gym…

It’s a brand-new gym…

Huge gym with windows lining the back of the gym and brand-new equipment…

It was a brand-new gym…

This place was badass…

I loved it there…

Mirrors all over the wall and the lighting was perfect…

Me and my buddy were there, and we were working out on the equipment like we did every day…

We were following this routine of Arnold Schwarzenegger’s body building quick start to mass…

How could it not work?

Everyone knows who Arnold Schwarzenegger is…

He was the first main body builder that everybody knew, and he was huge…

He’s got to know how to get muscle!

So, we were following his routine every day and it was like a 2 month routine…

Or 8-week routine (you know my ‘8-week thing’ from other videos)…

We were on this two-month thing and I didn’t get results…

Two months would go by and I did NOT get shit…

I looked the same as I always did…

I was not getting results…

I tried another routine…

I remember I built a gym in my house (a little miniature gym)…

It didn’t have much equipment…

Tried that routine and definitely didn’t get any results there…

Eventually I built a full gym in my house when I was stationed in Virginia…

I put it in my garage…

It had a full rack, bench press, 300 Olympic dumbbell set, barbells, cables…the whole 9 yards…

Anything I could do in the gym; I could do in my garage…

I was there all the time… hours and hours in the gym…

Following all different routines but I still didn’t get results and I had mastered nutrition…

I spent all this time mastering nutrition…

I could get skinny and lose fat at this point…

I can get fat, because I thought you had to get fat to build muscle (but I never built muscle, I just got fat)…

So, what the hell?

I just don’t know how to work out, I guess…

I guess the problem was I wanted to have body of my dreams, I wanted to have that ‘Brad Pitt body’ (the one from Troy), where the dude had big ass muscles…

You could see all the lines on it and those frisking abs… I wanted that!

I wanted to feel good…

I wanted to take my shirt off, go to the beach and just be proud of the way I looked…

And have people look at you and notice you because you look good…

What’s wrong with that?

That’s what I wanted, and I was NOT willing to give up on it…

The problem was I could not get results…

What the hell?

I started to think that I was just genetically unable to build muscle…

Maybe I had reached my ‘genetic potential’…

I had read about that a few times… my ‘genetic potential’ has been reached and I can no longer build any muscle in my body…

I thought that was bullshit!  Because I looked scrawny and I didn’t look like I had built any muscle…

I had seen people who didn’t take steroids who looked big and they had nice big muscles…

I looked like shit…

I was sick of it…

I knew I needed to do that; I just didn’t know how…

Changed the Way I Understand Building Muscle

What was I going to do?

Eventually I ended up finding my buddy Chuck (love Chuck)… he’s hilarious…

He got me into martial arts…

Chuck changed my life, whether he knows it or not…

He probably doesn’t think he did, but he had a huge impact on me…

He’s the one who introduced me to Kris Gethin…

The guy is amazing…

Kris Gethin has changed my life beyond anything I could ever tell you…

Chuck was the one who introduced me, because Chuck was following Kris Gethin for a long time and Chuck was big (he was getting results)…

He finally talked me into it as well…

So I got on Kris Gethin’s routine and I started following his 8-week trainer that changed my life…

This changed the way I seen working out and building muscle forever…

It was never the same after this…

I had been on a lot of routines, heard a lot of things and I had a lot of books on working out…a lot of books and a lot of courses…

Maybe Kris Gethin was the one who put that final straw on the back of the camel that caused the camel’s back to finally break and I got that ‘Ahaa!’ moment…

Maybe it was the one piece of the puzzle that was missing in my brain and once I plugged it in, everything just clicked, and I had it…

Let me tell you what it was like…

All off the sudden after finishing his 8-week trainer and his other 8-week trainer, I had it down…

I go to the gym now and I would work out less time than I was before…

Before I didn’t know what the hell I was doing…

I thought the longer I spent in the gym the bigger the muscles going to be… which was bullshit!

It’s actually the complete opposite…

One of the routines I was on that Kris Gethin had me on was this other guy’s (I don’t remember his name right now) who is a famous body builder and he only worked out three times a week for 45 minutes…

The dude was enormous…

Only 45 minutes three times a week?

That’s when I realized… it wasn’t how long you spent working out… it was how good you were at the time you had…

Working Out Longer Doesn’t Get You Bigger Muscles

It doesn’t take long to tear muscles is what I ended up learning…

It does not take long!

It’s so quick when you understand how to tear the muscle… it’s less than 5 minutes!

I can tear any muscle on my body, I don’t need to be in the gym, I don’t need to be anywhere, I can do it right here, probably even in my car if I lean the seats down…

It doesn’t matter where I’m at… I could do it…

I’m getting ahead of myself, but that is basically what I was learning…

So, I went to the gym and started lifting weights and I started getting sore again…

Now there is a huge misconception that I hear every time I’m in the gym or when I hear people talking about working out and it drives me nuts!

This is what people that don’t know how to work out…You know the guys that don’t have results?  This is what they will tell you…

I thought it too at one point but they’re going to say: “you only get sore in the gym the first couple weeks you go, after that don’t worry, you won’t get sore anymore”…

BULLSHIT!!!

You don’t get sore because you’re NOT getting results…

You’re not tearing your muscles, that is why you don’t get sore…

If you tear your muscle, you will be sore…

If you don’t feel sore after you work out, you did not tear your muscle and you waisted your time…

I want to get my point across so you would understand that this is crucial…

Huge thing that I learned about working out and this is earth shattering info that you need to understand…

So many people won’t get this, and they wonder why they look like shit, like I did for so many years…

You should be very sore when you finish working out…

I just did chest on Monday and my chest still feels excruciating and today is already Thursday!

If I touch my chest it hurts…

My legs are sore from leg day on Tuesday…

Guess what?

It didn’t take me more than a few minutes to tear a muscle…

That’s what I want you to understand…

That’s what I had learned…

Remember I told you in the beginning that I was going to tell you how you’re going to lose weight if you hate working out?  I’m still going to deliver that…

So how does this all apply to you if you hate working out?

So how can this knowledge help you?

The reason this helps you is that you can take this knowledge and you can implement it…

Meaning, like I said, I don’t have to go to the gym…

I don’t have to use weights if I don’t want to…

I can use just my body weight a few minutes in the morning…

I could take a lunch break for a few minutes and tear some muscles…

I could do it in the morning, at lunch and in the evening just a few minutes and tear all the muscles I need to tear and I never had to go to the gym or get all sweaty and stinky or hurt myself with heavy weights that I don’t know how to use or whatever else…

Some of the muscle groups are a little harder to tear so I have some simple things that you can buy (that are not expensive) and can carry with you anywhere…

They’ll fit just into a small bag and you have everything that you would ever need to do to get a full body tear…

The same tear that I get when I go to the gym, I could get without going to the gym…

The only reason I go to the gym is for the variety…

It’s about understanding that…

You might wonder, why do you care about building muscle?

I just want to lose weight…

You can read me previous articles, where I talk about how important muscle is to losing weight and how you can 7X you results to losing weight…

What I talked about in that article was how your muscle burns more calories than fat…

And I have a way to 7 times that result just by having more muscle on your body than someone else you can burn 750 more calories than them…

So, you DO care about building muscle…

If you want to get real results with weight loss… muscle is the key to this whole thing…

You don’t have to work out in the gym or do this routine… I have very simple ways…

It’s all based on the results that you want to get…

If you really want to speed up your results then you can follow these simple things that I do to build muscle that anyone can do in the comfort of your own home…

It doesn’t matter where you’re at…

There are also other ways to do it, that are less strenuous, but it would still build muscle and burn calories and they are relaxing and enjoyable…

You won’t get the same body figure when you’re done, which is fine if your goal is just to drop some pounds and get thinner… then you don’t have to do that…

Just keep in mind, if you were to build the muscle, your results would be that much faster than if you don’t…
