What Medical Conditions Can Prevent You From Losing Weight?

Could there be a medical condition that is preventing you or sabotaging your weight loss efforts…

It’s been several times throughout my life that I’ve actually wondered this question…

Are there medical conditions that are preventing you from losing weight…

If anyone has a weight problem, they probably know the thyroid…

That’s about the only thing they’ve ever heard of…

I didn’t know if there were any other things in there that could make people to have trouble with weight loss…

Some People Do Everything Right but Still Don’t Lose Weight

I remember one example…

I was in Guam and I was talking to this one lady…

She was struggling with losing weight and we’re sitting in her office…

She was sitting across of the room…

It was a small, maybe 10 ft office…

Window on the back of the wall there…

I am sitting over here, she is sitting at her desk…

We’re just kind of looking at each other and talking…

She knew I was into this topic, because I helped people to lose weight at that time…

She knew I was into those kind of things…

She asked me about weight loss, because at the time she was struggling with it so she ask “What do you recommend for losing weight?”

She said that she had been trying all these things and they weren’t working for her…

She wasn’t too bad…

But you could tell she had some excess fat…

She could definitely lean up and look really-really good…

She had a great body just a lot of extra fat sitting on top…

I remember talking to her about it and I was asking “What are you doing for your weight loss efforts right now?”

Because I was going to see how much she was eating and things like that…

She mentioned that she was eating only 1,000 calories a day and I was thinking, “Wow! 1000 calories a day, that is very little!”….

That is like the minimum level that you can ever eat and still have a chance at losing weight…

I could tell she was very frustrated…

This was very frustrating for her because she knows what to do…

She’s doing the right things…

She is working out…

She is eating only a 1,000 calories (she is eating like a bird)…

1,000 calories is nothing in 24 hours…

That takes a lot of will power to do that…

I’m thinking…

Either she is lying to me…

  1. She’s not really eating 1,000 calories a day…
  • She is not really doing well in the gym…

Or she’s telling me the truth…

What if she is telling me the truth?

What if she really is only eating 1,000 calories a day and she is working her ass off in the gym?

What the hell else could be the problem?

I’ve seen other situations as well…

Like I’ve seen women who before they gave birth to a child were very lean and looked good…

Then they had the child and they put on all this fat…

Then after the birth the fat never went away and they became fatter…

I just wondered if there is some kind of a medical condition…

You know these women didn’t want to be fat and they wanted to look good…

They were actively trying to burn the fat and doing the right things to improve their health and look good…

They want to feel good about the way they look…

They want to attract people of the opposite sex or whoever they are attracted to…

They want to feel really good, be healthy and live a long life…

Have all these things, be a role model for their children and not make their children fat because they are fat…

They want these things, but they are stuck…

Is there something related medically?

Is there something in our bodies that just gets jacked up and we can’t lose fat?

Doctor Knows Best About Medical Condition Causing Weight Problems

It got me wondering…

So, I did some research and I was trying to find a doctor that was an expert in this field…

I found this one lady, her name is Dr. Cabot…

She is an Australian lady and she has been in the medical field for 45 years, she has got 50 published books, she is an international bestselling author with over a million copies sold and they are all on weight loss…

Every one of those books are basically on losing weight…

This woman has helped people to lose weight for decades…

I was thinking “Who better than to ask this lady for an interview and find out if there were medically related issues?”

That’s what I did! I asked her and she said yes…

It was awesome!

I sent her e-mail and her secretary kind of screened it for a little while then I got another e-mail back from her and she said yes…

A week from then we got the interview set up and we got it!

So actually, last week I did the interview with her…

It was a long interview, like an hour and a half…

Anyway, it is a long interview and during this interview what I really realized was there’s a lot of different things that can happen…

There were all these things with the thyroid…

There were all these things with the liver…

There were all these things with the ovaries for women…

There were these things with the stomach…

And those were like the big areas…

Some Medical Conditions Might Affect Your Metabolism

The liver, the thyroid, the stomach – those were the main things…

After the interview it got me thinking about everything she said…

Those things got jacked up when the person got fat…

It all had to do with metabolism…

The thyroid controls the metabolism…

The liver is metabolizing the hormones for the control of your metabolism…

The stomach had to do with appetite, also with the bad bacteria in the stomach and things like that…

But all these things came back to the metabolism, which is controlled by hormones and all the different elements were controlling that…

What was interesting was once the person lost weight, it’s like the thyroid would regulate itself, the liver would become healthy again, the stomach would get better, everything got fixed when the fat in your body went away…

Wow!

There is a lot of medical things out there…

Even the one thing people really get concerned about is the gene of just being fat…

My mom is fat, my grandmother is fat, I’m just a genetically a fat person…

Not necessarily true!

The same philosophy applies, once you lose the fat, those genes get overwritten by your ability to just be thin…

Really the solution to your medical issues that are causing you to be fat are to lose the fat…

Seriously! That is crazy!

How to Lose Fat When Your Body Is Sabotaging Your Efforts?

Here’s the thing…

I got it…

My body is fighting me to lose fat with all those medical conditions that are preventing me from losing fat…

Then how the hell am I supposed to beat that and LOSE the fat?

Just like the person who is eating 1,000 calories a day and working out, but they have all these medical issues which are preventing them from losing the fat…

How do they get past that?

Cool thing is that you have to learn…

The same philosophy applies to anything else…

Learning how to lose the fat properly…

Let’s just say you apply this to some random fad diet…

Because they all work in one way or other, whether you are doing ketogenic diet or just limiting carbohydrates all together…

That is one option…

Low calorie diets, super intense workouts, long cardio sessions…

I mean whatever you choose to do…

Diets Are Short-Term Solutions to Weight Loss

But here is the problem people have…

A lot of people, they will get on these ketogenic diets or they get on these crazy ass fad diets…

It will help them to lose fat and they finally get lean and looking good, but they can’t stay on these crazy diets…

Because a diet is not a long-term weight loss solution…

A diet is just a temporary solution to a problem…

Diets are not meant to be used long-term…

That is why you are doomed to fail if you go on a diet to lose the fat…

You’re not going to do the diet for the rest of your life…

What do you do once you’ve lost the fat?

What is your plan now?

That is what you’ll have to think about…

That is one thing the doctor brought up as well in the interview and that’s what we see all the time…

People lose the fat…

They don’t know what to do after that because they can’t stay on the ketogenic diet and eventually they want carbs again…

What do they do now?

They go back to their old ways and the fat comes on and they are screwed…

What you need to do is to find a way to understand these things, so you can just take the fat off permanently and implement it into your life so that it never comes back…

That is the key…
